The year 2024 brings yet another WWE 2k releasing on the 8th March with lots of new features, exciting new contents and more game modes. After last year’s games where WWE 2k 23 claimed its spot as the best wrestling game after its release, this year, wrestling fans all over world are getting ready for the newest addition in the WWE 2k series which is hoped to take the genre of wrestling games to a new height. Making good improvements in the annually released game of a franchise can be quite difficult and have a good possibility of making the game feel repetitive but WWE 2k 24 did deliver big time on the improvements side while keeping the old successful formula of the gameplay the same. This article will provide you with an overview of all the new features that are expected from the latest release from the WWE 2k franchise WWE 2k 24.

New Match types:

WWE 2k 24 is starting off big this year with four new match types adding more variety in the gameplay experience with additional improvements on the previous match types. The four new match types are:

  • Special Guest Referee: In this match type you will be playing as a special guest referee who will conduct the match and ensure fair play between two players.
  • Ambulance Match: As odd it may sound, your main goal in this match type is to force your opponent into the ambulance that will arrive beside the ring when the match begins. The ambulance can even be used as the part of the arena as we all know wrestling is not limited within the boundaries of the ring. After you shove your opponent in the ambulance, they still have a chance to get out of it by winning a mini game of closing two doors of the ambulance.
  • Casket Match: Similar to the ambulance match, in the casket match a casket will arrive beside the ring and the end goal of the match is to put your opponent in that casket and shut the door. Again, when you try to close the door of the casket, closing your opponent in it, you have to win a mini game of closing the door shut giving the player inside the casket another chance to get out.
  • Gauntlet Match: This match was available in the game back in WWE 2K 15 where you had to fight a series of one on one matches and defeat all of them to win the match and this match type has been brought back to the game in the WWE 2K 24.
New Career mode:

Along with the excellent multiplayer features of the game that is sure to give you and your friends a really good time, the new WWE 2k 24 also comes with 3 different career modes.
MyRISE: A unique career mode where you get to take your wrestler to the top of the wrestling world through two different storylines, Undisputed for the men’s and Unleashed for the women’s, each portraying the ins and outs of the wrestling career. This career mode also features some real life superstars like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Mick Foley and others where these superstars gave the voice covers of their own characters in game for the first time ever in the history of WWE 2k and you will encounter these player in game as you are trying to make a name for yourself.
MyGM: The existing career mode of brand management has also seen a lot of improvements in terms of variety and content. It features more new brands and GMs with new match types and championships. More Superstar trading between brands, Superstar contract management and talent scouts has also been added in the new WWE 2k 24 along with Superstar journey where the superstars can earn more experience for participating in a match.
MyFACTION: This is all about building your own four-man faction and competing with other factions of other players in various match types including four versus four fight. MyFACTION has returned in the WWE 2k 24 with an improved multiplayer system with weekly and seasonal rewards and featuring more real-life factions and Superstars.

More Immersion:

The new WWE 2k 24 game also brings new details and features which adds up to make the gameplay more immersive and engaging. The existing backstage brawl match type new environmental elements like a working elevator that will take you to next floor when you go into it along with the player you have dragged with you in the elevator, breakable glass windows where you can smash your opponents and even 20 foot drop into a searchlight from the top floor have been added to the game. More environmental factors such as trash cans, microphones are now within your reach to use. The bounds within which you can fight has also been increased. Super finishers have also been added to the game rewarding those who are patient enough to build up to a more dramatic ending. The way blood works in the game has also been improved where now blood stains on the canvas will not just fade away after some time and will stay there till the end of the match. Even during the victory scenes are played out the blood-stained canvas of the ring is now clearly visible which improves the immersion of the game. When recreating some of the real-life fights in game the seamless transition between cutscenes of the fights and real footage has also been improved upon for better immersion. A second camera angle facing the ramp during the fight, improved voiceover and player models, all of these are smaller improvements that add up to a bigger significant improvement towards better immersion.

Better Sandbox experience:

The game now features more environmental elements that your player can interact with during the match outside the ring or in the backstage brawls offering newer and more creative ways to attack your opponents. But the biggest new addition to the sandbox experience of the game that is bound to leave you surprised is the addition of throwable weapons. Now almost all of the weapons that you can use during the fight can be hurled at your opponent to catch them off guard with a flying weapon. This throwing stuff at your opponent is not limited just to the weapon, any environmental stuff that you can interact with can be thrown at your opponent providing with you lots of new and creative opportunities to hurt your opponents.

In the new WWE 2k 24 you get to recreate the best moments throughout the 40 rich years of WrestleMania within the game featuring 21 matches with real life arena and superstars. Here’s the list of the matches that you can recreate within the game.
